This is the best peach cobbler recipe. Peach cobbler is filling and comforting. It can be made in a variety of different ways. My dad prefers blackberry and my kids like cherry. You can substitute any fruit compote that you like in this simple recipe. I make this recipe all the time. This is one of the first recipes I taught to my kids. Not only is it delicious, the measurements are so simple.
To make the Best Peach Cobbler Recipe you will need:
- small baking pan
- a stick of butter
- one cup of self-rising flour
- a single cup of sugar
- 1 cup of milk
- 1 large can of peaches *
First, you need your peaches or another compote. A compote is just a fancy term for sweetened fruit. There are lots of possibilities. You can use blueberries, blackberries, cherries, apples or peaches. I chose to use peaches in my recipe. It is just a personal preference. First, take your fruit and put butter in it. Stick it in the oven on 350 to melt the butter. While the butter is melting into the compote combine your sugar, milk and self-rising flour. Whisk until it is all mixed. You will not get every little clump out of it, but that is okay. Just make sure it is all mixed well. Next, pour the mixture into the pan with the compote mixture. Cook on 350 degrees for 15-20 minutes. The time will vary depending on the type of pan you used. The cobbler will be done when the top is golden brown. I love this recipe because it is super simple to scale into larger or smaller portions because you use equal parts of the ingredients for the mixture.
